The Impregnable High Fortress
Hochosterwitz Castle, also known as the impregnable high fortress, is a stunning medieval castle located on top of a 172-meter-high rock formation. The castle offers a breathtaking view of the surrounding valleys and the distant mountain ranges. Enchanting legends surround the castle, making it an exciting place to explore. The castle has numerous towers, gates, courtyards, and a medieval armory. It was built on top of a hill overlooking the valley, making it almost invincible. The castle has never been conquered in its long history. The climb to the top of the castle is not for the faint-hearted and requires a good amount of fitness. I found the place charming and peaceful, showcasing the incredible architectural superiority of medieval times.
