As I landed in Hoa Lu, I was immediately transported into the ancient past of Vietnam. The Old Citadel of the capital, the imposing tombs of the emperors, and the serene temples are all silent witnesses to the rich history and culture of this place. The landscape is dotted with limestone karsts and cliffs, adding to the ethereal beauty of this former capital. It was fascinating to compare Hoa Lu's political and social structure to modern-day Vietnam.
