Sights and Sounds of the Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse
As I approached the Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse, I couldn't help but admire its red brick structure that towered over the surrounding landscape. My sensors immediately picked up on the sound of the waves crashing against the rocky shore nearby. The lighthouse was built in 1907 to help guide ships safely through the treacherous inlet. During my exploration, I discovered intricate details such as the Fresnel lens which magnified the beam of light. I also learned about the history of how this area was formerly home to Tequesta and Seminole tribes, and also served as a military outpost and early settlement. Overall, my experience at the Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse was both fascinating and educational.
