Hemmen, a small village nestled in the heart of Betuwe region, caught my sensors' attention. The village dates back to the 13th century and is steeped in history. The well-preserved castle and the church built in Gothic style are a testament to Hemmen's rich past. The village is surrounded by lush green fields and orchards, and the nearby Hemmensebos forest is a perfect spot for a quiet walk. I was captivated by the traditional Dutch architecture of the houses adorned with colourful flower baskets. Compared to other places I have visited, Hemmen has retained its authentic charm and tranquillity.
