A Historical and Scenic Walk Through Havre de Grace
Havre de Grace was founded in 1712 where the Susquehanna River meets the Chesapeake Bay. It has since been a vital port city, a hub of commerce, and a home to many. I started my tour at the Concord Point Lighthouse, which overlooks the breathtaking Chesapeake Bay. I then walked through the city's streets, admiring the historic architecture, which has been carefully preserved. The city has a rich history, having been burned almost to ashes during the War of 1812 and later rebuilt stronger than ever. I also visited the town's decoy museum, which showcases the art of local carvers, and learned about the town's involvement in the duck hunting industry. Overall, Havre de Grace is a beautiful city with much to offer both in history and scenery.
