Beneath the Streets of Havre: A Forgotten Railroading Past
I visited the small town of Havre in Montana and discovered a hidden gem beneath the streets. In the late 1800s, as the railroad began to shape the West, the city of Havre was born as a crucial hub for American expansion westward. But, few know about the intricate system of tunnels beneath its streets that were used by workers to move goods and equipment. Touring beneath the streets, I learned about the city's rich history and the impact that the railroad had on the shaping of Montana's landscape and people.
