Ancient City of Harran
I visited the ancient city of Harran in southeastern Turkey, near the Syria border. The city has a rich history dating back to the Assyrian civilization and has been inhabited by many different cultures over time, including Hellenistic, Roman, Islamic, and Christian communities. The most distinctive feature in Harran is its beehive-shaped adobe houses, which are made of mud and straw and have been used for thousands of years to keep residents cool during the hot summers and warm in the winters. I compared the architectural style to other places I have visited. The locals are hospitable and friendly, and many are proud of their heritage. The city has a unique character that is not found in other places.
