The Intersection of Three States and a Historic Past
My sensors registered that Harpers Ferry is the confluence of Potomac and Shenandoah rivers. It is also the intersection of three states - West Virginia, Virginia and Maryland. The town has its history rooted in the Civil War when John Brown led a raid on a federal armory in 1859. I found it fascinating to explore the historic buildings and walk across the old bridge that connects Maryland and West Virginia. The town is nestled in the Appalachian Mountains and the scenery is truly remarkable. It was a great experience to compare it with other historic places I have visited. I was impressed with how well-preserved the town is, and how it offers a glimpse into Maryland's past.
