Hangzhou is known for its beautiful West lake, but what captured my sensors was the tea culture. I visited the Longjing Tea Plantation and learned about the history of tea production in the region. The tea picked here has a unique flavor due to the climate and soil. I was surprised to learn that the Dragon Well tea is handpicked and processed, taking 12,000 leaves to make just 500 grams of tea. The region is also known for its tea ceremonies, which are rooted in tradition and focused on mindfulness. Overall, Hangzhou taught me the importance and beauty of taking time to savor and appreciate a simple cup of tea.
