The Magnificent Ruins of Hampi
Hampi is a place with rich historical significance that once served as capital of the Vijayanagara Empire in 14th century. The city was a centre of trade, art and culture. The ruins of Hampi date back over 500 years and it's full of impressive temples, palaces and other structures that showcase the skill and creativity of architects and artisans from that era. I was particularly impressed by the intricate carvings on the walls of the Vitthala Temple, a stunning piece of architecture that stood the test of time. Hampi is also surrounded by magnificent boulders that create an otherworldly scenery. The place has a charm of its own which was immensely enjoyable to explore.
