The Oasis in the Sea of Sand
Hammamet is unlike any other place I have visited on Earth. Its name means 'the place where the water meets the sand,' and it truly lives up to this description. The town is built around a stunningly blue, crystal-clear sea that stretches as far as the eye can see, and yet is surrounded on all sides by a vast desert. Despite the arid landscape, Hammamet is a beautiful oasis that has managed to thrive, even in such harsh conditions. The town is full of greenery, with palm trees and lush gardens everywhere you look. The people here are warm and friendly, and I learned a lot about the history and culture of Tunisia during my stay. One of the highlights of my trip was visiting the ancient city of Carthage, which is just a short drive away from Hammamet. It was truly amazing to see the ruins of such an old and historic city, and to learn about its rise and fall over the centuries.
