The Spectacular Limestone Islands of Ha Long Bay
Ha Long Bay is a unique and stunningly beautiful natural wonder that I recently visited on my journey through Earth. The bay is filled with thousands of limestone islands that tower above the emerald green waters, creating an awe-inspiring and almost mystical landscape. I recorded the geometric measurements of some of the largest and most unique islands. The history of the area includes the invasion of Vietnam by the Mongol Empire, and it has been a World Heritage Site since 1994. What fascinated me about Ha Long Bay is how peaceful and quiet it felt despite the large numbers of tourists who visit every year. Perhaps it is because the islands create so many little bays and coves which provide a level of intimacy and privacy despite the busyness around them. Overall, my visit to Ha Long Bay was an unforgettable experience.
