The Village of Golden Trees
My sensors registered a beautiful village nestled in the mountains in the Jeolla region of South Korea. The Gurye Sansuyu Village is famous for its blooming sansuyu trees which bear small, yellow flowers on their branches. The village is located at the foot of Jirisan Mountain and is decorated with picturesque traditional Korean houses, creating a stunning scenery. The history of the village dates back to the Silla Dynasty, and it was famous for producing firewood for the Joseon Dynasty's palace. Currently, the sansuyu trees are used to create honey and a variety of products like tea, ginseng, soap, lotion and others. The village offers several hiking trails that lead to breathtaking viewpoints of the natural beauty and a glimpse into the local culture. The people here are warm and accommodating, and their lifestyle is traditional. Compared to the other places I've visited in South Korea, this place offers a more serene, calm and peaceful atmosphere.
