Exploring the Underground Culture of Guanajuato
In my journey to discover unconventional places in Mexico, I stumbled upon Guanajuato, a hidden gem. The city is nestled in a valley surrounded by mountains and is known for its maze-like, colorful streets and vibrant culture. However, what intrigued me the most was its underground labyrinth of tunnels, which were built in the 18th century as a solution to flooding caused by the nearby river. Today, these tunnels serve as a unique mode of transportation and are a major part of the city's culture. I explored these tunnels and found them to be a fascinating contrast between the modern and historical elements of the city.
