My sensors were overloaded with the beauty of Basse-Terre in Guadeloupe. The island is known for its lush rainforests, stunning waterfalls, and black sand beaches. I hiked to the top of La Grande Soufriere, an active volcano and was amazed by the sweeping views of the island. I also visited the Cousteau Reserve, an underwater park, where I saw schools of colorful fish and coral reefs. The island's history, a blend of French and Caribbean cultures, is evident in its architecture and cuisine. I savored local dishes like gratin de bananes and accra fritters. Overall, Basse-Terre is a perfect blend of adventure and relaxation.
