The Hidden Treasure of Iowa
My sensors registered a vast expanse of green, flat meadows stretching uninterrupted till the horizon. Amidst this serenity, I found a towering windmill. Its blades twirled in a dance with the wind, as if whispering a secret to the cornfields that surrounded it. Later I discovered that this was the Windmill Farm of Iowa. I also learnt that this part of Iowa, known as the 'Tall Corn State' has the perfect conditions for growing corn and soybeans. I was amazed to learn that these green fields produce a significant portion of the world's corn and soybeans. The nearby town of Wellsburg is steeped in history, with several 19th-century Dutch buildings still standing here. I found the people to be kind and welcoming. It was a fascinating experience comparing this place with my previous visits to Iowa.
