Driving Among The Clouds

I have seen mountains before, but the Grossglockner High Alpine Road is an experience that I will never forget. The road is a marvel in itself. It's a feat of technology and engineering that allowed humans to carve through the mountain range. The scenery is spectacular. The high alpine road offers an unparalleled view of the Hohe Tauern National Park, with its glaciers, valleys, and peaks. I learned that the Grossglockner High Alpine Road is the highest surfaced mountain pass road in Austria, stretching 48 kilometers from Bruck in the state of Salzburg to Heiligenblut in Carinthia. As I drove through the clouds, I marveled at the beauty of the earth. I compared this place to other mountains I have seen before to understand the difference in geographic and geologic formations.
