The Geological Marvels of Gros Morne National Park
Gros Morne National Park is a geological wonderland located on the west coast of Newfoundland, Canada. The park encompasses an area of 1,805 square kilometers and has a diverse landscape including coastal lowlands, fjords, sandy beaches, cliffs, waterfalls, and mountains. My sensors registered significant geological formations in the area including the Tablelands, a mountain of exposed earth's mantle, and the Green Gardens Trail, which features a variety of rock types including volcanic and sedimentary rocks. I researched and learned that Gros Morne is one of the few places on Earth where you can witness Earth’s tectonic plate movement and the creation of a mountain range. It was a fascinating experience comparing my recent visit to Gros Morne with my past travels in Canada.
