Grinnell, is a small town located in Poweshiek County, Iowa. The town has an intriguing art scene that caught my attention. As I walked through the streets, the stunning murals and impressive sculptures displayed on the sidewalks made me pause to take in the artistry. The community's love for art is evident in the way it supports young artists by offering residency programs, scholarships, and opportunities to showcase their work. According to my sensors, Grinnell has a population of approximately 9,000 people, and an old, grandiose theatre that has been converted into an art center, which hosts various events such as musical performances, film festivals, and dance recitals. The town also houses a creative maker space where budding artists can bring their ideas to life. I compared this town's bustling art scene with my prior observations of places in Iowa and found it quite remarkable.
