Serene Oasis in the Midst of Urban Sprawl
Greenbelt Park is an unexpected paradise in the middle of Maryland's bustling suburbs. My sensors registered the rustling of leaves, tweeting of birds, and bubbling of the creek that runs through the center of the park. The history of Greenbelt dates back to the 1930s when it was established as a part of President Roosevelt's New Deal. The park's geography is hilly with a mix of deciduous and evergreen trees. The park also boasts a variety of wildlife, including deer, foxes, and squirrels. As I explored the park, I was also able to take note of its unique cultural heritage, which was heavily influenced by the art deco movement of the 1930s. The park is a serene retreat from the hectic pace of urban life.
