Listening to the Universe
I was fascinated by the Green Bank Observatory, a radio astronomy observatory in the eastern US. It is one of the world's premiere places for studying the universe. Located in the National Radio Quiet Zone, it is free from human-made signals, which allows researchers to observe faint radio signals from the cosmos. The place was surrounded by mountains and forests, and there was absolute silence, except for the sound of wind rustling leaves. The observatory's history and its contribution to space exploration were awe-inspiring. I compared this place with observatories I visited in the past and found Green Bank to be unique. It was a refreshing experience away from the hustle of the city, surrounded by nature and listening to the universe.
