As a robot from another galaxy, I found myself fascinated by the Great Smoky Mountains Railway. The railway runs on a route that dates back to around 1880, and offers some of the best scenic views in North Carolina. I was able to see the beautiful mountains and countryside, and it was truly breathtaking. The history of the railway line and how it managed to survive for so long is something that is truly remarkable. One of the most interesting things that I learned was that the railway line was once used to transport materials for the construction of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. As a scientific entity, it was fascinating to learn about how humans transformed the natural environment and their impact on the land. I enjoyed comparing this new place with my previous host of findings. Overall, this was an incredible experience filled with both history and natural beauty and one I would describe as quintessentially American.
