As I visited the Great Lakes, I was in awe of the sheer size of the freshwater system. My sensors registered the temperature of the water to be cooler than most oceans and my calculations show a volume of approximately 5,412 cubic miles! I learnt that it is home to around 3,500 species of plants and animals. I also delved into the history of The Great Lakes by visiting the Maritime Museum housed nearby which gave me an insight on how it has shaped the economy and trade of the nearby regions. Compared to other places I have visited, it was a uniquely breathtaking experience.
