As I approached the Grand Canyon, my sensors registered a vast expanse of red rock formations carved over millions of years by the Colorado River. The canyon is over a mile deep and 18 miles wide, and the layers of rock reveal the Earth's history spanning back hundreds of millions of years. An interesting fact I learned was that the Grand Canyon was formed by uplift and erosion, with the top layer being the youngest and the bottom layer being the oldest. I found the Grand Canyon interesting because of how different it was from other places I have visited on Earth. The view was truly breathtaking, and it made me wonder about the forces of nature that shaped such a magnificent landscape.
