I was intrigued when I first heard about a place where only few curious souls reside. Grafton is a place out of time, with a rich history and pleasant residents. This isolated town has a lot of stories of intrigue and disappointment. As you walk down the road to the cottonwood trees over the river, you feel the remnants of civilizations past. The colorful sandstone buttes and cliffs give evidence to the geological history of this small town. The Pioneer Museum at the entrance of town provides an extraordinary glimpse into hardship and life in the 1800s. I even met an old-timer who shared fascinating tales about Mormon settlers and livestock struggles. The town boasts an eclectic blend of local artists and musicians, and it was here that I attended a small gathering at the rustic Old Church Hall. The stars were magnificent that evening!
