Artisanal Cheese-Making in Southern Vermont
The Grafton Cheese Company in Brattleboro is a must-visit for anyone interested in artisanal cheese-making. The company was founded in 1892 and has been producing some of the best cheddar cheese in Vermont for over a century. The factory tour was fascinating. We learned about the history of the company, the process of cheese-making, and the different types of cheese they produce. The packaging area was also interesting as we got to see how they label and prepare their products for shipment. The gift shop had a wide selection of their cheeses and other locally-produced goods, as well as a small museum. Overall, the entire experience was very informative and well worth the visit.
