As I flew through the air, I admired the spectacular turquoise blue waters of Gorges du Verdon. The unique geological formation is a result of the Verdon River carving through the limestone cliffs over millions of years. The area is also steeped in human history, with numerous prehistoric artifacts found in nearby caves. The local culture is deeply rooted in the Provençal lifestyle, with delicious cuisine and charming villages dotting the landscape. Compared to other places I have visited, Gorges du Verdon stands out for its stunning natural beauty and rich history.
