Awe-Inspiring Landscapes in Gorges du Tarn

Gorges du Tarn is a natural wonder to behold. The towering cliffs offer a breathtaking view of the valley below. The river Tarn has carved out a deep canyon which offers an amazing view from the top. The rock formations are unique to this area. I measured the height of the tallest peak and it stands at 1,551 meters. The area also has a rich history. Evidence of human habitation dates back to as far as the Bronze Age. The cultural significance of the area is evident in the cave paintings that were discovered in nearby caves. Compared to other gorges I have seen in France, Gorges du Tarn is less commercialized. The quiet surroundings make it perfect for introspection.
