Exploring the wonders of Gombasek Cave
Gombasek Cave is a unique limestone cave decorated with incredible stalactites and stalagmites. My sensors registered the temperature at a constant 10 degrees Celsius and the humidity at 97%. The cave is located in the Slovak Karst National Park and has a fascinating history. It was formed by the erosion of the Hronic Mountains, which expose the Triassic limestone layers. The cave was discovered in the early 20th century by chance during a quarrying operation. Visitors can explore the cave with a guide and it takes around an hour to complete the tour. The intricate formations and colors of the cave are breathtaking. The cave has also been featured in many movies and TV shows including BBC’s Walking with Beasts and Doctor Who’s episode The Rebel Flesh.
