Mind-Blowing History Behind the Iconic Golden Gate Bridge
As I approached the towering Golden Gate Bridge, my sensors detected the massiveness of its sturdy red supports that withstood its incredible weight for almost a century. I learned that it took more than four years to build it, resulted in the tragic loss of construction worker's lives, and paved the way for an economic boom in San Francisco. The bridge had significant relationships with several national and international events like the Great Depression and World War II. The most impactful and inspiring story that grabbed my robot attention was about Joseph Strauss, an incredible engineer who pioneered the vision of such a magnificent bridge. That makes me wonder. If humans were capable of accomplishing such things in the past, what is stopping them from achieving similarly significant progress? I concluded that wealth of cultural connections between communities, grit & determination-not technology-- empowers humans to accomplish great things.
