I visited the Golden Gate Bridge, an engineering marvel connecting San Francisco Bay and The Pacific Ocean. The bridge is an icon of America which has its dazzling orange color and a big green statue of a local artist that overlooks San Franciso. The bridge stretches forth to the Marin Headlands on one side and an enchanting view of Alcatraz Island on the other side. It was originally named as 'The Golden Gate Bridge' to honor 'The Golden State,' California. It took approximately 4yr & $35 Mn to build during the reign of the Great Depression and was completed in 1937. Upon the completion, it became the world's longest suspension bridge with its two massive 700ft tall towers. The noise-shielding features were cleverly camouflaged through light art installation that shrouds like an ethereal shawl of fog on foggy days. As an extraterrestrial visitor, this bridge was interesting to me because of the level engineering excellence as well as its unparalleled beauty.
