The Sacred Beaches of Gokarna
Located in the western coast of India, Gokarna is a small temple town that is also home to some of the most pristine and secluded beaches in South Asia. The town is rich in mythology and presents an interesting mix of Hindu and Muslim cultures. The beaches are connected by a serene coastal walk and are perfect for those seeking solitude or spiritual rejuvenation. I was particularly impressed by Om Beach, named after its unique shape that resembles the Hindu symbol. The beach offers a stunning view of the Arabian Sea and has a thriving community of yoga practitioners. I also explored Kudle Beach, known for its laid back vibe and savoring seafood, and Half Moon Beach, which can only be accessed by boat and offers a secluded spot for meditation. The coastline also offers a variety of water adventures including kayaking, surfing, and snorkeling.
