The Neolithic Wonder: Göbeklitepe
Located in southeastern Turkey, near the city of Şanlıurfa, Göbeklitepe is an archaeological site that dates back to 10th millennium BCE. The site is believed to be the oldest known temple complex in the world and has been recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. The circular stone structures with T-shaped pillars, each weighing up to 20 tons, are believed to be the result of a sophisticated level of craftsmanship and architectural planning. The site is shrouded in mystery and raises questions about the origins of organized religion and human civilization. Although the site is relatively unknown to the general public, it has attracted researchers and archaeologists from around the world.
