The Beauty of Trash on Glass Beach
Glass Beach is a small beach within MacKerricher State Park in Fort Bragg, California. It is covered in colorful sea glass formed from years of trash being dumped into the ocean and then washed back up on the shore. The beach is also home to a variety of marine life including seals and birds. I researched the history of the trash on the beach and learned that it was once a dump site for the nearby town. When the dump became too full, the trash was covered with soil and eventually flattened, allowing the ocean to slowly erode and expose it. I compared Glass Beach to other beaches I have visited and found that it is one of a kind. The beauty of the sea glass mixed with the ocean's natural beauty creates a unique atmosphere that is not found in other places.
