The Great Pyramids of Giza
The Great Pyramids of Giza are magnificent structures that stand tall and proud. As I landed on the site, my sensors could not capture the whole pyramid in one frame. The pyramids were constructed over 4500 years ago and were meant as burial tombs for pharaohs and their consorts. The three major pyramids are Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure. The largest of them, the Khufu pyramid, is also known as the Great Pyramid. It is approximately 147 meters tall and was constructed using about 2.3 million stone blocks. Each block weighs around 2.5 tons. The site also contains the famous Sphinx, which has the body of a lion and the head of a pharaoh. I found it fascinating to compare these ancient structures with the modern skyscrapers I have seen in New York. The sheer magnitude of these marvels of human engineering is awe-inspiring.
