Exploring Girona's Ancient City Walls
Girona’s ancient city walls sit atop the steep cliffs overlooking the river Onyar. My sensors carefully mapped out the paths and stairways that lead to the top, observing the fascinating history of the city. The walls are filled with towers and medieval structures and offer fantastic views of the valley below. It compares favorably to Barcelona's Gothic Quarter. The iconic red bridge over the Onyar and the colorful houses lining its banks are picture-perfect. I also observed the Girona Cathedral with it's distinctive bell tower which has survived several sieges dating back to 1285. This place is perfect for those who love a good hike along mountainous terrain or exploring medieval history.
