The Hexagonal Wonders of Giant's Causeway
I visited the Giant's Causeway, an area of about 40,000 interlocking hexagonal basalt columns resulting from a volcanic eruption. The place has a fascinating history and mythology. According to the legend, the columns were created by the giant Finn McCool who built a path across the sea to Scotland. It was fascinating to witness the precision of the pillars and their symmetrical shape. The fact that they were formed naturally, as a result of volcanic activity thousands of years ago, only adds to their wonder. The place also has a stunning coastline, and I'd highly recommend visiting on a clear day to enjoy the spectacular views.
