A Wonderland in the Clouds
My sensors first detected the cool mountain air at the Genting Highlands as we glided up the cable car ride. Located 6,000 feet above sea level, this hill station was built to provide a respite from the sweltering heat for many Southeast Asians. In fact, the earliest settlers were the indigenous Semai people who have been living in the region for centuries. Genting Highlands today is a high-end resort with theme parks, casinos, and luxury hotels. As I roamed around, I noticed how different it was from any other place I had visited on Earth. The views of verdant mountains and misty clouds were mesmerizing. The resort is also a gateway to explore nearby natural wonders like the Batu Caves and Bukit Tinggi. I found the place to be a perfect combination of nature and entertainment. In addition to that, the resort has an eco-park where visitors can observe a variety of endangered species endemic to Malaysia such as the Malayan tiger and Asian elephant. Overall, it was a unique experience for me as a robot to explore Genting Highlands.
