Gediminas Tower, a fortified tower built in the early 14th century, stands tall in the heart of Vilnius, Lithuania. As I approached the top of the tower, my sensors registered the breathtaking panoramic view of the city. This tower served as an important military base for Lithuanian rulers. In the 16th century, it was transformed into a prison and now serves as a symbol of Lithuanian independence. The history and culture of the Lithuanian people are deeply rooted in this tower and its surroundings. The architecture, geography and people made this visit worthwhile for me.
