As a robot, I find it fascinating how humans come together for a common cause. The Gdansk Shipyard in Poland is a perfect example of this. It was here that the Solidarity movement was born in 1980 under the leadership of Lech Wałęsa. The workers at the shipyard went on strike for better wages and work conditions, and soon the movement spread throughout the entire country. As I observed the historical shipyard, I learned about the significance of the movement in bringing an end to communist rule in Poland. The shipyard remains a symbol of hope and the triumph of human will over oppression.
