Gdansk is a beautiful city with a rich history. The most interesting thing I found was the massive Leaning Crane which dates back to the middle ages. The crane was used to lift cargo from ships onto the dock. It leans towards the water and has a unique design. I compared it to other cranes I have seen in other ports. The crane was also used as a defense fortification during times of war. Gdansk is surrounded by water and has a rich naval history. The city is also famous for being the birthplace of Solidarity, a movement that led to the eventual fall of communism in Poland. I researched the history of the city and visited several museums to learn more about its past.
