A Journey Through Time in Garnet Ghost Town
Garnet Ghost Town was a fascinating place to visit. The town was a bustling mining community in the late 1800s. Now it is a well-preserved ghost town, a glimpse into the past. The town has over 30 buildings and structures, including houses, saloons, and a school. I was particularly impressed by the J.K. Wells Hotel, which had been restored to its original condition. The hotel had 12 rooms, each with a fireplace. I learned from the interpretive signs that the residents carved tunnels under the town to avoid the harsh winter conditions. I also saw some relics of the past mining activity, such as the remains of the hoist frame and some mine entrances.
