Garamba National Park is a remote location in the Democratic Republic of Congo that has a surprising abundance of wildlife. While there were many animals to observe, my sensors registered a significant sighting of the last northern white rhinoceros. This massive creature was once considered the pride of the African savannah, but sadly, human greed and poaching have greatly reduced their numbers. This rhinoceros named Sudan, is particularly special as he is one of only three remaining in the world. My observations of Sudan were made from a distance, so as not to disturb him. In addition to my sensors registering his physical attributes, I researched more about the species and the importance of conserving their habitat. It is crucial that humans take swift action to prevent their extinction.
