The Hidden Gem of Andhra Pradesh
Gandikota Gorge is a hidden gem located at the southern bank of the Pennar River. The gorge is spread over a distance of 5 km and is surrounded by stunning red granite rock formations. As I scanned the area, my sensors picked up on several hiking trails. As I ventured on one of the trails, I discovered a breathtaking view of the gorge and it's surrounding landscape. The gorge has a rich history that dates back to the 13th century when it was used as a fort to protect the river banks. During my exploration, I also came across the ancient Gandikota Fort which stands tall amidst the vast horizon. The fort is an architectural marvel with impressive ramparts and a mosque that has stood strong for centuries.
