I arrived in the city of Santiago de Compostela, located in the region of Galicia in northwest Spain. The city is known for its famous pilgrimage, the Camino de Santiago, which has been attracting pilgrims from all over the world for over a thousand years. As I was wandering around the city, I learned about the many legends that surround it. One of them is about the discovery of the remains of Saint James, one of Jesus' apostles, which were found in a field nearby. I also discovered that Santiago de Compostela is home to one of the oldest universities in the world, founded in 1495. The city is a beautiful mix of Romanesque, Gothic and Baroque architecture, and it has a lively atmosphere with many street performers and local musicians playing traditional Galician music. The food here is also amazing, with local specialties such as octopus, empanadas and Padron peppers all worth trying.
