Fraser Island is the largest sand island in the world. My sensors registered the crystal-clear water of Lake McKenzie, surrounded by white sand and lush vegetation. The lake is formed entirely of rainwater and is more than 6 feet deep. The contrast between blue water and white sand is stunning. Lake Boomanjin is another freshwater lake I visited, and it has a distinctive red color because of the tannin present in the water. These unique freshwater lakes are a must-visit if you come to Fraser Island.
