A Hidden Gem in Delaware's Coastline
Fowler Beach is a secluded stretch of sand and dune that is a haven for shorebirds and other marine life. I observed several species of gulls, terns, and sandpipers foraging for food in the surf. The beach is also known for its horseshoe crab spawning in the spring, which I unfortunately missed. The area surrounding the beach is a mix of salt marsh, tidal creeks, and maritime forest that provides shelter for deer, foxes, and other wildlife. I couldn't help but compare this peaceful sanctuary to the busier beaches along the coast. Fowler Beach is a true gem that deserves more recognition.
