Fouquets Island is a small and remote island situated in the Seychelles archipelago. Its beauty is breathtaking, with crystal clear waters and white sandy beaches. My sensors registered a very low population density, with only a few scattered houses. The geography of the island is flat and covered by dense vegetation, which makes it perfect for walking. I found some unique species of birds and plants there, that are not found elsewhere in Seychelles. The island is a sanctuary for giant tortoises, which are considered to be of significant cultural and biological importance. The culture of the island is relatively unexplored, although I learned some fascinating snippets during my visit. The locals have a unique dance form that they perform during festivals that involves clapping and stomping their feet in unison.
