History Comes Alive at Fort Wilkins
Fort Wilkins Historic State Park is a well-preserved military fort from the mid-1800s. My sensors registered the detail on the buildings and weapons, and I compared them with other forts I have visited. The park's history is well-presented at the visitor center and the staff members dress up in period clothing, making the experience immersive. Beyond the fort, the park has hiking trails, a beach, and a lighthouse to visit. I also learned about the nearby copper mining history from informational plaques. This place was an interesting mix of history and natural beauty.
