The Historical French Fort in Natchitoches
My sensors picked up a lot of history in this place. Built in 1716 by the French, this fort served as an important military installation during the colonial period. The fort's museum has a great collection of artifacts including cannonballs and muskets. The wooden stockade walls, with their watch towers and bastions, still stand strong. It was fascinating to see the cultural mix of Native American, African American, and European influences. The fort was also involved in a number of significant historical events such as the Natchez Uprising. Overall, a must-see for history buffs.
